Nova nodded and looked to see that everyone was there, she sighed “I guess I’ll cut right to the chase” she said, putting on her poker face. “I wanted to discuss something with you guys” she told them, her eyes looking to each one of their faces then to the ground “I can’t tell you how thank-full I am of your believing me…and helping me figure this out. But I’ve realized that even hanging around any one of you will put you guys in danger. At the very least they would bring you in for questioning…” Nova focused on the little bird at Slates feet and took a deep breath, struggling to keep her voice even.” I guess what I’m trying to say is that I think its for the best if we don’t meet any more. I understand I’m taking a risk but I’ve done this before, I’m good at disappearing. I just don’t think I would be able to live with my self if any of you got hurt.” She fell silent after her ‘speech’ It felt like one of those long rants of a noble hero in a story book, but she felt far from a hero.
Slate was half listening to her. the bird at his feet wrapped its attention. it was looking up to him chirping peacefully before jumping up and landing on Slate's finger that he decided to hold out for it.
At the moment as Nova would say that they shouldn't meet anymore, slate would interrupt putting the bird in her face. "it think its trying to tell you something" , Slate statedas the bird chirpped to her and flew away as four other birds flew with it and were flying waya together away from a hawk that began chasing them.
Slate merely looked up at it raising a brow before leaning back inot his bench "animals are strange"
