I agree, his pastor is not really a large part of his running or views, but I thought maybe I should bring that up. McCain, as I said, is not a good candidate in any sense.

On the issue of republican/democrat views, what could you possibly have against republicans, and Bush in particular? If you try and go on about immigration or the war, I'll have to laugh at you. Truth be told, I am more concerned about any of the other views than about those two. I am concerned about things that will directly affect this and the next generations. Right to bear arms gives us the freedom to protect ourselves, which far outweighs the penalty of them being used for crime. Now, let’s say that no one was allowed to have guns. Do you think that criminals would just give up? They would have guns imported in secret, or simply keep theirs from being confiscated. And then civilians are left without guns to protect themselves. Where would you be then? And, also, even if that stopped armed crimes, if we had no arms, how would we rebel if the government took over, and fell into communism or something of the like? One of the first steps of taking control is taking away the ability to fight back.

If you can name what you specifically like about Democratic views, I would be happy to address them with counter-views, if I have any.

First off, protect? Niggas don't have licenses in the first place!! LOL What people get robbed in the suburbs? Not as much as you would think. I used to live in the Burbs, nothing happens. so where does protecting yourself occur? THE HOOD. Ok first off, barely any white folk live down there. Secondly, black folk find guns like, worms find dirt. It's all around us. So the majority of people don't have licenses to begin with. But ok, keep it as it is. Oh, and uh, the "self-defense" rate is STILL murder. S/He was mudered out of self-defense? C'Mon they are still dying. But I digress, keep guns then. But like I said, "protecting" youself...HA!...Civilians are more triger happy than crooks! They think, "Oh ok well since I have a gun, if anything happens I will be ready." Man...please. I've seen it done before. Murder cases from trigger-happy civilians killing out of suspicion or because they are scared, wnd up being turned into "Self-Defense". But ok have it your way. And name anything dealing with Republicans and I will be glad to counter as well. But that is for another thread. We are going off topic here.

BACK ON TOPIC!!! Any updates on Barack anyone???

oh man, laughin my arse off over here.

lemme try to make some sense out of all of this before things get really out of hand in this thread.

ok, I guess I'll start with Kadaj's accusations at Obama's pastor. Obama's is running not his pastor, he's completely irrelevant to whats going on in the election and truly everyone knows that. its a competition, and people are scandalous. They'll try to find anything to dirty your name, and shift the tides the other way. Things have always been this way, and in my opinion I think they roast hilary even more so than obama.if you really want to throw pastors into this, then why not bring up Mccains pastor preaching a sermon on "african-american genocide". why isn't that as highly publicised?? why didn't that get highlighted every time you click on your yahoo page??

people are trying to do whatever they can to dig up dirt on an Opposiing candidate to the point where its getting ridiculous. We need to be looking at this mans views on current events, the issues he plans on dealing and all the stuff that really matters. not what color he is, or what his preacher says, or any other irrelevant thing like that....and I mean that for all candidates.

Like I said, I'm not too concerned about Mccain. I have to give it to him, he does happen to be the least obnoxious republican candidate we've had thus far. Tho I still don't agree with most of his views, and will still put hilary over him. I mean...the fact that he's the ONLY candidate that believes we should stay in the war sends up a red flag at the start. its like...has he not been looking around? this isn't the 1800's, the U.S does not benefit from war anymore. We spend 10 million a month on this war....money that could be use to fight the wars we have going on in our own backyards. there's only one concern I have about pulling out our troops right now...but even that can be dealt with with out a war.

I do have to thank you for wanting to talk about whats important kadaj...but if you really wanted to proove your view on mccain, throwing in the "right to bear arms" a.k.a "right to kill" wasn't the best way to go. something like health care, or the education system, heck, global warming would of made a better argument. we're in desperate need of an alternative fuel source, the O-zone layers all f'cked up, and your main concern is wether or not I get to keep a gun :?:

How about something that effects us on a day to day bases. One issue I'm very interested in is Obama's plan for national health care. Health care for those who can't afford it and pretty much never will, and no one can be denied service. simple enroll ment, cheap deductibles, and everyone is treated just like the next man. almost sounds ideal, like how things should of been a long time ago.

now I would love to hear someone disagree with that. what cold heartless b@stard can disagree with poverty stricken children getting their lives saved?

OH GET EM!!!!!! LMAOO But yea, thanks for bringing up McCain's pastor Munk. I totally forgot about comments he made. But no need to throw him in there. And yes. Munky just pointed out a few things I was going to say. We have much to worry about besides guns. Ok the educational systems in this country are so below standard, that menally disabled children can pass just as easy as we do. And he wants to allow high school student or I believe anyone who wants to go to college, a free $4,000(This may be an incorrect amount). Which means that damn near EVERYONE should have at least and Associates Degree from their local Community College. And let me emphasize the alternate fuel source topic. This entire war is about that. They have oil, we don't. We want it, but we can't pay because we have so much debt up our ass, that the IRS even owes money. So hey why use the 9/11 incident to cover up, the fact we wanna be bullies and take shit all the time. There is NOTHING left over there. We blew everything up, within the first few months we started this war. I wish I could find that video of Obama FLAMING the Bush Administration AND Congress for even beginning this stupid war. This war is longer than WWI and WWII I believe.

"people would riot if Obama got shot", but what are we really gonna do? the only recent time we've had people react like that is when they tried to pass immigration laws, and since Obama doesn't have a shred of latin in him I dont think thats very likely to happen again.

Actually Munk if you think about it there were two guys awhile ago that spoke of change and made it happen to an extent, Malcolm X and MLK himself. I know the next thing your gonna argue is what has Obama changed, it's not him alone but there is one thing....interest. He's made the african american youth of the world actually care about politics! Not an easy feat in itself, he's also a beacon of hope for the elderly African americans of the world as the real first positive example of a politician of African descent that isnt an idiot, addict, crook, or combination of the three. So do I think he's already made an impact, yes. Can he make a difference, yes. Do I think people will riot over his death, they did for the two men I mentioned.
